This is such unfortunate news! I hope that once the economic landscape is more secure Healthy Malden will resume providing the much needed prevention initiatives that have already impacted the community. Kudos to all the great work Healthy Malden has been involved in.

I am sorry to hear that your organization will not be continuing. I feel you have done great things within the community and it is a shame that your programs will not be available after this month.

I for one will miss the organization. The partnership that we had in many areas was great for all partners. Police Departments can be inflexible places but with HM, we became a more open and more inclusive place. The answer isn’t always in the handcuffs. Thanks to your staff and your leadership.

This will truly be a great loss to the community and one that everyone will feel. HM was always there and it was good to know that we had a place to go for help. You will all be missed!

My encounters with Healthy Malden have spanned four directors and twelve years. There have been many programs initiated my Healthy Malden that brought untold benefits to the City.
Prevention is difficult to measure, as is the impact of the closing of Healthy Malden will have on the City. The bullying programs, counseling for youth, AIDS initiative, community conversations and other programs are still needed.
I hope somehow HM will prevail and survive.

It is heartbreaking to learn of the loss of Healthy Malden. Please know that you touched many lives for the best and how many of us can say that? Our communities can not afford to lose organizations like Healthy Malden which directly affect so many especially in hard times. Thank you for doing all you did for as long as you could.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Healthy Malden. I hope that somehow, perhaps when the economic climate has improved that you would be able continue to provide the much needed initiatives to our community. Healthy Malden has been involved in such great work. Great job to all involved!

It is hard to believe that an agency who does so much for the City of Malden would receive no support from the city during this difficult time. Healthy Malden's many preventive programs will be missed by the citizens of Malden in the long range health and well being of our community.

The newspaper said that 'Hallmark leased' space to them too. If they own the building, why couldn't they cut the rent? First the hospital and now they bleed a group like Healthy Malden dry!

I was shocked when I saw the article in last week's Malden Observer about
Healthy Malden being shuttered. You and your organization have played an
integral role in connecting the non-profits together in such a way that
everyone gains ..... most of all, the needy populations these non-profits
service. This is a giant step backward, especially in times like we face
now. I can't even begin to say how sorry I am to hear this sad news.

Sorry to hear about HMI...you and your staff did a lot of great work for the city and the void will be felt throughout the community in the future, I'm sure.

Healthy Malden was more than just a job, it was family of wonderful people who care passionately about their community. I have been very privileged to work with you. You brought me back into the city in which I was born, the city my family never left. You gave me the opportunity to do some good work with some wonderful kids who'll desperately miss our services. Thanks to Kevin, Jan, and Kris for taking care of me both professionally and personally, and for reminding me how important it is to do some good for the next generation of Maldonians.

It was with great sadness that I learned about the financial challenge of Healthy Malden, Inc a couple of weeks ago, which resulted in the discontinuation of all Healthy Malden, Inc.'s programs and operation. Please know that you and your organization has done tremendously for the Malden community and beyond. Particularly on behalf of the youth in and around Malden, Youth A.C.T. and I would like to express our deepest gratitude for Healthy Malden's generous and wonderful support of youth activities and events. Without your support along the way, Youth A.C.T. would not have been able to do much, especially those events we had organized in the last 18 months plus. Thank you Healthy Malden, Inc.
